Author Info : Prolific DOOM 2016 mapper Description : Frenetic Frenzy is an engaging Doom II mapset that share similar design traits of SIGIL, Memento Mori, and Alien Vendetta. It was meant to be a "all killer, no filler" approach to a mapset. I wanted this mapset to not be too long, but also not too short. This wad was designed to give Doom players a satisfying time without completely draining them which a 32 level megawad can possibly do. This is my first Doom II mapset, but I have a lot of mapping experience for DOOM 2016. I wanted to take a break from it and make levels for my all time favorite Doom title. These 12 (13?) are designed to thrill Doom fans by offering both non-slaughter and slaughter styled maps. These levels are also balanced for both single and cooperative play. If you are a seasoned Doom player, I highly recommend you to just jump onto Ultra-Violence difficulty. The lower difficulty are more designed for average joes and casual players which might not appeal to those who have a lot of experience of playing community levels. As someone who has so much experience with DOOM 2016 mapping and constantly dealing with SnapMap's limitations, it was a breath of fresh air to have so much creative freedom when making these levels! I hope you find Frenetic Frenzy to be a satisfying experience because I definitely had a lot of fun playing and working on these levels. For those that felt Ultra-Violence wasn't hard enough, Frenetic Frenzy was also designed for a hardcore/permadeath playing experience. This approach is simply for those that found Frenetic Frenzy to not be challenging enough while playing on Ultra-Violence and having the luxury to use save games and reloading them when dying. When you play Frenetic Frenzy and you cannot afford to die while starting from MAP01 and finishing to MAP12 in a continuous playthrough, this mapset becomes a fight for survival. The late game maps will definitely start to cause more pressure due to how lethal the fights can be. I highly recommend players to play Frenetic Frenzy in this manner if you want to experience this wad at its most stimulating form. Remember to learn the maps very well before your attempt your permadeath journey. It's going to be important if you want to be able to survive through all the 12 launch day levels.
