Features 6 new levels. the 6th being a secret level. The story: It was like anyother day. Reporting to base and awaiting orders. All of a sudden, you hear screaming and gunfire in the middle of the base. You rush there to see what is happening. There you find corpses of your comrades. Riddled with bullets and rotting in the acid area. One by one, hells legion starts spawning all around the base. You're not sure what is going on. But you do know this: you'll get to the bottom of this and hell will pay. Made this one in only 3 days. I like this one mainly due to it feeling like it could've been an early E1 level from doom 1. Maybe because of the music choice and/or the map itself, but that's just me. Map02 - Hell Castle I originally was gonna make this map MUCH bigger than what's in the final. You would've had to killed 4 mancubus's guarding each corner to raise the bridge to get inside the castle. with mountains with gravel paths with supplies around the castle. i ended up downsizing it since i felt it would've been a slog to get through and didn't quite match up with the layout i had planned. It would've made for a cool experience, maybe next time, if i decide to make another doom mappack. Map03 - Tricks and Traps 2 The map that made me do this mappack in the first place. Originally for one of the rooms, it was going to be a shootable switch puzzle where you would figure out which switches to shoot before you got crushed, i instead went with a simple rising floor room due to me not liking that idea. All rooms don't have much in terms of supplies or you can get more than one quantity of one weapon because i designed each room with pistol starting in each teleporter room in mind, so no matter which room you may get yourself into, it'll be hard to get through each one. In the (now) prototype that i was originally gonna release, the 2nd room was just a modified e1m1, i changed it due to one of the rules of doomword stating you couldn't upload modified or copied levels from the IWADS, understandably. Since i wanted to publish this wad to the site, i made a new map within 2 days inspired by to replace it, and that's the 2nd rooms conception. Map04 - 'O' of Disbelief! The original title of this map was going to be O face of doom, but disbelief sounded better, the mapname itself is a reference to Doom 2's map11's original title 'O' of destruction! The original idea of the map was gonna encorporate the giant face in the middle of the map, walking all over it to get to the other side of the map, and get the blue key card from it's eye, but the map ended up being reworked to keep [REDACTED] in mind. Lots of secrets in this map, can you find them all? And the 2 sides of the map was gonna be in the shape of a brain, that also didn't happen. Map05 - Confrontation The final map of this wad. Face to face with the greatest enemy to humanity, Stillness. At this point, i was fresh out of map ideas for this wad, it took a bit to come up with what i did for the final, which ended up becoming an amalgamation of (almost) all of the elements from each map (and heavy use of shootable switches), besides the absolute madness of the way the icon of sin works and it's ability to turn this map into a slaughtermap (Definitely makes for one HELL of a finale and reinforces the name of this wad: One DOOMED Marine ), i think this one turned out okay. Map06 - Sun and Moon This is where i was starting to run out of ideas for maps, at this point i managed to churn out 4 maps with distinct setpieces and gimmicks. I knew that i wanted this map to be in the shape of the sun and moon, however, the designing of it just went south, since the curves of the moon wouldn't have given me much to work with if that makes sense, so i ended up with a loosely shaped crescent moon. And added the known midi of the slayer song, raining blood. I think it fits with the short, fast paced and action packed vibe of this map.
