DVD2oneX GUI

Installing MKISOFS
MKISOFS (version 1.15a39 or later) is available as part of DVD-Imager
1.2 which can be found at DVD-imager
home or click here
to download it directly. Unpack the DVD_Imager1.2.sit file and mount the
just unpacked disk image (just double click on it)
-Open the mounted disk image.
In the 'Sources' directory which comes with DVD-Imager
1.2, you will find MKISOFS (version 1.15a36)
Just move MKISOFS to the Resources directory in the DVD2oneX bundle. To
view the contents of the DVD2one bundle do as follows:
-Press the ctrl-key (Control) and click on the DVD2oneX application.
-Now select Show Package Contents from the popuplist. The Contents directory
should now be visible.
-Double click the Contents directory, the Resources directory should now
be visible.
To install MKISOFS:
-Drag MKISOFS from the 'Sources' directory of the DVD-Imager
1.2 mounted disk image to the Resources directory of DVD2oneX..
-Close all window(s) (and thus the Package).
Now MKISOFS is installed for use by DVD2oneX.
Creation of an image can also be done by selecting Create image from the
Tools menu and choosing the directory from which has to be made an image
(first check the Create image check box and enter the name of your DVD
title).
Create image
If MKISOFS is installed you can select the create image check box. In this
case a DVD-disk image is created after the processing is done.

User defined output size
By selecting User defined from the Output popup-button, you can enter the
desired output size.

Keep in mind that 1GB equals 1024MB, thus the default of 4472MB equals
4.367GB (this is the maximum size that will fit on a DVD recordable disk).
Compression Ratio
The Ratio popup-button allows you to select between 'Variable', 'Constant' and 'Selective'.
Variable Ratio
When selecting 'Variable' the 'old' engine is used for processing
the movie. This will result in a movie quality know from recent versions
of DVD2oneX v1.2.0.
Constant Ratio
Selecting 'Constant' will enable the 'new' engine for processing the movie.
This will result in a much better movie quality than known from recent
versions of DVD2oneX v1.2.0. This mode is especially for processing long
movies.
Selective Ratio
Selecting
'Selective' will enable the 'new' selective ratio for processing the movie
and will enable the level popup button at the right side.
This new engine is a different way of approaching the video data! Selectable
in three pre-defined levels, this new engine determines the balance in
distincting the important screen parts from the less important ones.
Things that are not in focus in the current frame, like backgrounds, are
low in detail or as we define it, of low importance to the screen and
can be approached differently than the important ones.
With this new compression method, setting the popup button to low will
lead into a scheme where the important parts of the screen are a bit more
compressed than the less important ones. Compressing of low important
parts can result into macroblock because the original encoder in a good
encoder setup already achieved the best possible compression without loss
of detail.
In medium the important parts are even more compressed than the non important
parts, and in high the compression is almost done only on the important
parts.
Advanced Navigation Mode

This new feature is experimental and may not work correctly with specific
DVD players, or may have some unwanted side effects. It is recommended
to try it first with a rewritable disk. It adds the following ways to
navigate between the different title sets:
- Right menu button for next title set.
- Left menu button for previous title set.
- Next chapter at the last chapter of a title goes
to the next title set.
- Previous chapter at the first chapter of a title
goes to the previous title set.
The menu button system may interfere with subtitles. Also if a title set
does not have subtitles, a dummy subtitle is added to make this feature
to work.
