It creates seven diskettes. The NSSD diskettes contain NetWare and intraNetWare drivers, NetWare Loadable Modules (NLMs), and support information to optimize the performance of NetWare and IntranetWare on Compaq servers. This software enhances the performance of Compaq options such as Compaq Drive Array controllers, Compaq 32-Bit SCSI-2 controllers, and Compaq CD-ROM drives. Enhancements/Fixes: This release of the Support Software for Novell Products (NSSD) primarily supports the following new products: - Compaq ProLiant CL380 - Compaq ProLiant DL360 - Compaq ProLiant DL580 - Compaq ProLiant ML330 - Compaq ProLiant ML570 - Compaq NC3134 Fast Ethernet NIC - Compaq NC3135 Fast Ethernet Upgrade Module - Compaq 66MHz/64bit Wide Ultra3 SCSI Adapter The following Compaq drivers were updated: ADPT160M.HAM Version 15.01 - NSSD 5.50 - Added support for the Compaq 66MHz/64bit Wide Ultra3 SCSI Adapter. - Fixed the ProLiant ML530 ABEND that may occur if the adapter is set as the boot controller and installed in a 66-MHz slot (slot 7 or 8). CPQANS.LAN Version 1.25 - NSSD 5.50 - Created the Compaq Advanced Network Service (CPQANS) to provide teaming support for Compaq Fast Ethernet (Compaq NC31XX) or Compaq Gigabit (Compaq NC61XX) NICs. CPQARRAY.HAM Version 2.07 - NSSD 5.50 - Modified to log a caution on both failure and warning temperature event notifications from the array controller. CPQFC.HAM Version 2.30 - NSSD 5.50 - Added support for a connection to either the Compaq StorageWorks Fibre Channel RAID Array 8000 (RA8000) or the Enterprise Storage Array 12000 (ESA12000) storage subsystems using the Compaq StorageWorks SAN Switch 8/16 or the Brocade Silkworm 2400/2800 fabric switch. - Added support for up to 8 node Novell NWCS clusters using the Compaq StorageWorks RAID Array 4000 Redundant Array Controller option. - Modified the driver to bring Fibre Channel HBA lasers back online without device deactivations following an ABEND that has been recovered by NetWare. - Corrected an issue where in Compaq Enterprise Backup System configurations, the act of bringing up multiple servers onto the fibre channel loop was causing the Fibre Channel Host Adapter Module (CPQFC.HAM) to incorrectly report that the fibre channel loop was unstable. The driver was not properly distinguishing between the expected disruption to the loop attending new servers coming online and abnormal disruptions to the loop. CPQHLTH.NLM Version 4.30 - NSSD 5.50 - Changed the Compaq Server Health Driver (CPQHLTH.NLM) to provide graceful shutdown of the server in case a thermal event is received from external storage boxes. CPQNSSU.NLM Version 1.49a - NSSD 5.50 - Resolved failure to log storage events the NetWare Console or the Integrated Management Log Viewer when installing Hot Plug support using the Compaq Support Software Utility (CPQNSSU.NLM). - Modified CPQNSSU.NLM to correctly recognize Adaptec 160M SCSI Controller and Compaq Smart Array Controllers at NetWare startup. - Incorporated newer files from NetWare 5.1 to repair the issue when loading CPQNSSU.NLM, where console reports downgrade of certain files to an earlier version during an assisted installation. CPQONLIN.NLM Version 2.44 - NSSD 5.50 - Fixed an issue in which information was displayed on the console during a logical drive migration. CPQPOWER.NLM Version 1.5 - NSSD 5.50 - Corrected the issue of Compaq Power Subsystem Utility for NetWare (CPQPOWER.NLM) not gracefully shutting down NetWare server with 0-second power-down setting. This correction only allows 1-120 seconds to be entered. CPQRSO.NLM Version 1.03 - NSSD 5.50 - Added the ability to monitor the SYS: volume for critical faults. - Modified to allow the Recovery Server to activate when the server is shut down because of thermal faults or fan failures. NCMCON.CFG Version N/A - NSSD 5.50 - Modified the Novell Configuration Manager Console Configuration file (NCMCON.CFG) to add support for new Compaq Network Interface Controllers. N100.LAN Version 5.70 - NSSD 5.50 - Added support for the following controllers: * Compaq NC3134 Fast Ethernet NIC * Compaq NC3135 Fast Ethernet Upgrade Module N1000.LAN Version 1.45 - NSSD 5.50 The following Novell drivers were also updated: NWPA.NLM Version 3.05 ================================================================== Notes: - NWPA.NLM Version 3.05, which is located in the \NWPA directory on NSSD 5.50, is for NetWare 5.X servers ONLY. - For NetWare 4.x servers, use NWPA Version 2.36 that is located in the NWPA\4x directory. - For NetWare 3.x servers, use NWPA Version 2.36 that is located in the NWPA\3x directory. ================================================================== Your suggestions and feedback are welcome at NSSDFeedback@compaq.com. HOW TO USE 1. Obtain seven (7) formatted 1.44 MB diskettes. 2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is an executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. You will be prompted to insert the formatted diskettes in a drive to create the diskettes. 4. After the diskettes have been created, you may delete the SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2. 5. For installation instructions, refer to READ1ST.RDM and WHATSNEW.RDM on the created diskettes. Copyright 2000, Compaq Computer Corporation. All rights reserved.
