Download and run the Softpaq. Drivers will be copied to the appropriate system folders. 2. Insert WL100 Wireless PC Card into Windows XP computer. The hardware should find the drivers. This should be highlighted in the systray at the bottom right or your desktop. 3. Your device should be ready for configuring. You may receive prompts from the systray that a new network device has been installed. It may also prompt that the user view available networks to select a network with which to connect. The user must initially select a network to begin using this device. 4. See wireless parameters below. Upgrading previous installation If you have previously installed a version of the WL100 Wireless XP drivers, you are required to do a driver update: 1. With the WL100 inserted, download and run the softpaq, you may be required to uninstall a previous configuration utility, if so, please follow the dialog boxes for uninstallation. 2. Click the Start button. 3. Click on "Control Panel". 4. Click on "Switch to Classic View" 5. Double click on "System". 6. Click on the Hardware Tab. 7. Click on the Device Manager Button. 8. Double click on the Network Adapter section. (If the WL100 Wireless Adapter is not listed, it may be under Unknown Devices). 9. Right click on the WL100 device. 10. Select "Update Driver" from the pop-up list. 11. See Wireless parameters below. Wireless Parameters You can now edit your wireless parameters in the Windows XP wireless configuration utility. Click on the network icon in your system tray for the iPAQ Wireless PC Card Adapter. Select the wireless network to connect to, or click "Advanced" to enter more parameters (suggested). Configure one of the available networks. If using WEP, uncheck "The key is provided for me automatically". Notice that the Key index is different in Windows XP versus the configuration utility in other operating systems. For XP, the index range is 0 to 3, whereas in other operating systems and in the Access Point Manager it is 1 to 4. You must map this number to the correct setting for your Access Point by subtracting 1 from the setting your Access Point is using.
