DESCRIPTION:
This package creates a ROMPaq firmware diskette or CD-ROM that can be used
to locally restore or upgrade the System BIOS in the listed notebook models
with a 68DTD Family ROM. 

NOTE: To determine the ROM family and ROM date, press F10 on the target
notebook during startup to run the Setup Utility, and then view
File/System Information.

ENHANCEMENT(S): 
- Provides a new video BIOS version. 
- Updates the Intel Memory Reference Code to version 1.9.

FIXES:
- Changes the name of the “SD slot” field in the F10 Setup Utility to
  “Flash media reader.” 
- Fixes issue where notebook cannot start (boot) from the optical device 
  when operating on DC power.
 
HOW TO USE: 

1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.  

2. Open shell and run the following command to extract the package:
   tar xf spxxxx.tar

3. Use the following command to execute the package:
   sh spxxxx.sh

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to create either a bootable diskette or CD. 

5. After creating a bootable diskette or CD, the SoftPaq .EXE file in step 1
   can be deleted, if desired.

6. Power Off the notebook.

7. Place the newly created bootable diskette in Drive A, or place the bootable CD in
   the CD-ROM drive, and restart the notebook to update the system BIOS.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE COMPUTER WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE!
