This package contains the Flash utilities necessary to update the video BIOS 
(ROM) of an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 400 PCI Video Card in the listed workstation 
models and operating systems. 

NOTE: This version of the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 400 PCI Video BIOS and Flash 
Utilities increases the option ROM size from 51 KB to 62 KB.

workstation stops responding when two or more digital flat-panel displays are 
connected and the Microsoft Windows operating system changes from the Splash 
screen to the user desktop.

- Resolves an intermittent issue with video BIOS 4.17.20.38.30 where the 
workstation does not resume from Standby or Hibernate mode when two or more 
digital flat-panel displays are connected.

- Resolves an issue where a black screen or flashing screen occurs when 
attached to a digital flat-panel display that supports resolutions greater than 
1280 x 1024 pixels.

HOW TO USE: 
This package includes the following methods for updating the video BIOS:

- Use WinFlash32.exe and WinFlash64.exe to update the video BIOS directly in a 
Microsoft Windows environment.
- Create a bootable CD-ROM.
- Create a bootable USB drive.
- Use System Software Manager (SSM) or HP Client Manager Software (HPCMS) to 
remotely update the video BIOS.

1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive. 

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to update 
the video BIOS.

3. Once the video BIOS update is complete, restart the workstation.
