SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Software: Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium, Windows 2000 or Windows XP Hardware: IBM or IBM-compatible PC with USB ports. II. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS To install the software for your Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe), please follow below steps: 1. Turn your system on and start Windows. 2. Connect your Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe) to the USB port of your PC. 3. If this is the first that you connect the Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe) to your system, some "New Device Found" messages may appear on the screen. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation. 4. Run the setup program within this package to install the software for your Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe). There are two argument switches for the setup program: setup.exe /s silent installation, no user input needed setup.exe /nr never restart the system even necessary setup.exe /preload avoid hang problem at preload installation stage You may specify both arguments for silent and no-reboot installation. If you would like to do manual installation by updating driver with Device Manager, please follow below steps: - Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition - 1. Turn your system on, start Windows and logon into the system. 2. Connect your Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe) to the USB port of your PC. 3. System will automatically configure the Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe) and install the standard driver. 4. Open the Control Panel by clicking Settings from Start Menu. 5. Double-click System icon and select Device Manager tab. 6. Expand the devices under Universal Serial Bus controllers, locate USB Composite Device and double-click on it. 7. In USB Composite Device Properties, select the Driver tab and click on the "Update Driver..." button. 8. Click "Next" button in the showing dialog. 9. Choose "Display a list of the known drivers for this device, so you can select the driver you want" item and click "Next" button. 10. Click "Have Disk..." button. In the "Install From Disk" dialog, input the right path of driver (for example, "A:\Win98") or click "Browse..." button to look for driver manually then Click "OK" . 11. Choose the product you want to install and click "Next" button. 12. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation. - Windows Millennium - 1. Turn your system on, start Windows and logon into the system. 2. Connect your Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe) to the USB port of your PC. 3. System will automatically configure the Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe) and install the standard driver. 4. Open the Control Panel by clicking Settings from Start Menu. 5. Double-click System icon and select Device Manager tab. 6. Expand the devices under Universal Serial Bus controllers, locate USB Composite Device and double-click on it. 7. In USB Composite Device Properties, select the Driver tab and click on the "Update Driver..." button. 8. Select "Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)" item and click "Next" button. 9. Choose "Display a list of the known drivers for this device, so you can select the driver you want" item and click "Next" button. 10. Click "Have Disk..." button. In the "Install From Disk" dialog, input the right path of driver (for example, "A:\WinMe") or click "Browse..." button to look for driver manually then Click "OK" . 11. Choose the product you want to install and click "Next" button. 12. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation. - Windows 2000 - 1. Turn your system on, start Windows and logon into the system. 2. Connect your Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe) to the USB port of your PC. 3. System will automatically configure the Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe) and install the standard driver. 4. Open the Control Panel by clicking Settings from Start Menu. 5. Double-click System icon and select Hardware tab. 6. Click Device Manager button to launch the Device Manager. 7. Expand the devices under Universal Serial Bus controllers, locate USB Composite Device and double-click on it. 8. In USB Composite Device Properties, select the Driver tab and click on the "Update Driver..." button. 9. Click "Next" button in the showing dialog. 10. Select "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver" item and click "Next" button in "Install Hardware Device Drivers" dialog. 11. Click "Have Disk..." button in the "Select Device Driver" dialog. In the "Install From Disk" dialog, input the right path of driver (for example, "A:\Win2000") or click "Browse..." button to look for driver manually then Click "OK" . 12. Choose the product you want to install and click "Next" button. 13. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation. - Windows XP - 1. Turn your system on, start Windows and logon into the system. 2. Connect your Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe) to the USB port of your PC. 3. System will automatically configure the Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe) and install the standard driver. 4. Open the Control Panel by clicking Settings from Start Menu. 5. Double-click System icon and select Device Manager tab. 6. Expand the devices under Universal Serial Bus controllers, locate USB Composite Device and double-click on it. 7. In USB Composite Device Properties, select the Driver tab and click on the "Update Driver..." button. 8. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" item and click "Next" button. 9. Choose "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" item and click "Next" button. 10. Click "Have Disk..." button. In the "Install From Disk" dialog, input the right path of driver (for example, "A:\WinXP") or click "Browse..." button to look for driver manually then Click "OK" . 11. Choose the product you want to install and click "Next" button. 12. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation. III. UNINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS To remove this software, please follow below steps: 1. Open the Control Panel by clicking Settings from Start Menu. 2. Open the "Add/Remove Program" and select "IBM Rapid Access Keyboard (III, IIIe)" from the list. 3. Click on the "Add/Remove" button and follow the instructions to complete uninstallation.
