Drivers/Client tools for IBM High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card (P/N 09N9863, 09N9904) for Windows NT4.0.
File Contents:
This self-extracting EXE file contains the client software, drivers, and firmware for the IBM 
High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card.

Installation Instructions:
1. Use Windows Explore to find the winntwl.exe file that was downloaded and double click on it.  A PKSFX Extraction window will appear.  Click on the "Extract" button.  NOTE (If a window "Create C:\wlan directory?" appears, Click Yes).  C:\wlan is the default directory that the file will extract itself into.  If you chose to extract to another directory, use that directory in the following instructions instead of "C:\wlan".

NEW INSTALLATION OF CLIENT MANAGER INSTRUCTIONS:
a) Click "START" > "RUN".
b) Enter "C:\wlan\setup.exe"
c) Click "OK".
d) Follow the on-screen instructions.

UPGRADE EXISTING CLIENT MANAGER INSTRUCTIONS:
a) Click "START" > "SETTINGS" > "CONTROL PANEL"
b) Double-click on "Add-Remove Programs"
c) Click on "IBM Client Manager"
d) Click  "Add/Remove" bar, Click "Remove" radio button, Click "Next", Click "OK"
e) Perform the NEW INSTALLATION OF CLIENT MANAGER above.


NEW INSTALLATION OF IBM WIRELESS LAN PC CARD AND DRIVERS:
NOTE: The Client Manager Software must be installed prior to the PC Card and driver installation.
a) Insert the IBM High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card into the laptop.  The PC-Card Wizard will detect a new card insertion. Click "Correct"
b) If Network has been installed, continue with step c. If network has Not been installed skip to step L
c) Click "OK" 
d) Click "Adapter" tab
e) Click "Add", Click "Have Disk" bar.
f) Enter "C:\wlan", Click "OK"
g) Highlight "IBM High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card", then Click "OK"
h) Click "Close"
i) Enter Network Information. (See Network Administrator for proper information)
j) Click  "Yes" to restart your computer.
k) After computer restarts an IRQ conflict may result. See: NOTE 1
l) Network has not been installed, Click "OK"
m) Click "Yes" to Install Network.
n) Select "Wired to the Network", Click "Next"
o) Click "Select from List" bar.
p) Click "Have Disk"
q) Enter "C:\WLAN", Click "OK"
r) Highlight "IBM High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card", then Click "OK"
s) Highlight "IBM High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card", then Click "Next"
t) Select "TCP/IP Protocol, Click "Next"
u) Network Services, Click "Next"
v) Click "Next" to Install network Components
w) NT needs to load files, Enter "C:\", Click "Continue"
x) DHCP, Click "NO"
y) Enter TCP/IP properties. (See system administrator for needed information)
z) Bindings, Click "Next"
aa) Start Network, Click "Next"
bb) Enter Workgroup or Domain. (See System Administrator), Click "Next"
cc) Network installed, "Click Finish"
dd) When asked to Restart your computer, Click "Yes"
ee) After computer restarts an IRQ conflict may result. See: NOTE 1


TO UPGRADE THE DRIVERS FOR A CARD YOU HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED:
a) Click "START" > "SETTINGS" > "CONTROL PANEL"
b) Double-click on "Network" icon.
c) Click on "Adapter" tab.
d) High light "IBM High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card", Click  "Update" bar.
e) Enter "C:\WLAN, Click "Continue"
f) Click "Continue"
g) Click "Close"
h) Click "Yes" to restart computer.
i) After computer restarts, up-grade is complete. See: NOTE 1


Note 1: An IRQ conflict may exist after card installation.
 To correct error:
j) Click "START" > "SETTINGS" > "CONTROL PANEL"
k) Double-click on "Network" icon.
l) Click on "Adapter" tab.
m) High light "IBM High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card", Click "Properties"
n) In Add/Edit Configuration Profile window, Click "Edit Profile" tab.
o) In Edit Configuration window, Click "Adapter" tab.
p) Set Interrupt to "7", Click "OK"
q) Click "OK"
r) Close Network window by Clicking "OK".

TO UPGRADE YOUR FIRMWARE:
a) Click "START" > "RUN"
b) Enter "C:\wlan\wsu10616.exe"
c) Click "OK"
d) Follow the on-screen instructions.
