Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Drivers software package for all IBM Gigabit
and 10/100 Ethernet Server and Desktop Adapters by Intel.

The adapters supported include:

PRO/1000 XT Server Adapter by Intel               22P6801
PRO/1000 T Desktop Adapter                        22P6501
PRO/1000 T Low Profile Desktop Adapter            22P6601
IBM Gigabit Ethernet SX Server Adapter            06P3701
IBM Netfinity Gigabit Ethernet SX Adapter         34L0301
IBM 10/100 Dual Port Server Adapter               22P4901
IBM 10/100 Ethernet Server Adapter                06P3601
Intel PRO/100 S Desktop Adapter                   22P4501
Intel PRO/100 S Low Profile Desktop Adapter       22P4701

And all other IBM Intel-based adapters.

This software is fully Microsoft certified with CAT files.

This gold v6.2 software release will replace previous v3.1 and
v5.1 software releases for the above adapters.

This package is created by PackageForTheWeb, which allows users
to be able to extract all files and directories into either the
default destination provided or any drive destination the users
wish to specify.

1.0  Overview

This v6.2 software package is for all IBM Gigabit and 10/100
Ethernet Server and Desktop Adapters from Intel.


1.1   Limitations
-----------------

This drivers software requires Microsoft Service Pack 5 or later
for Windows NT 4.0 installation.
For Windows 2000, at least Service Pack 2 is required.

This new v6.2 sw release replaces the previous v3.1, v5.1, or older
software releases for IBM Intel-based Gigabit and 10/100 Ethernet 
Adapters.

This new v6.2 sw provides these following key updates:

- Support the new 82546 chipset
- Enhanced PROSet properties
- Integrate 10/100 and Gigabit drivers sw into a single release


3.0   Build and Installation Instructions
_________________________________________

NT 4.0
======

1) Make sure the adapter is physically installed in your server
or work station prior to installing the driver software.

2) Verify that your Windows NT system is upgraded with Service  
Pack 5 or later.

3) After logging in to NT 4.0, go to Network then Adapters 

4) Select Add and click on Have Disk

5) Enter the source for the drivers software

6) Follow the steps on your screen to install the drivers

7) When completed, the adapter should then show up on the Network
Adapters list.

8) When drivers installation is completed, if you are installing
multiple adapters and want to set up a failover team, then go to
Propeties and Right Click on one of the adapters. Then follow the
steps for creating an adapter team.

9) Click on Close and assign IP address either static or dynamic.

10) Reboot your system

Note that, with NT 4.0, the Adapter Properties PROSet2 Utility
tools and GUI are installed automatically with the drivers.

Windows 2000
============

1) Make sure the adapter is physically installed in your server
or work station prior to installing the driver software.

2) Verify that your system is properly installed with Windows
2000 OS.

3) After logging in to W2K, W2K will detect the adapter with
the W2K Wizard window. Click Next.

4) Select Search, then click Next.

5) In the Locate Driver window, select the floppy drive box or
CD-ROM if you are using the sw CD-ROM, then click Next.

6) Click Next.

7) Click OK to start the drivers copying and installing process.

8) Click Finish.

9) Install PROSet2 Adapter Properties Utility program 

10) Note: If you are installing multiple adapters and want to
set up Failover Team, go to PROSet2, Right Click on one of the
adapters and follow the steps there to create a Team.

With W2K, PROSet2 is not installed automatically with Drivers
sw install. To install PROSet 2, you will need the whole drivers
sw CD or the more complete package posted at IBM Options web.

are provided in the NT disk 2 image.
