	3.0 Installing and Setup Instructions

Note: At present, the Windows operating system does not include the correct display
device driver for the S500 series board. For best results, install the display
driver supplied with this INSTALL file. The latest version of Microsoft Direct X
should always be used for optimal driver performance.

		3.0.1 Plug and Play installation:

After installing the S500 series board, Windows 2000 should detect the S500
series as a new display device, and will prompt for the display driver
location. When prompted for the location of the display driver files, browse
to the Windows 2000 directory on the S500 series CDROM, or your
local/network directory that contains the driver files corresponding to your
operating system. If prompted, select the Stl500m.inf file and continue
through the driver installation status screens.

3.0.2 Manually installing the S500 series display driver:

		1. Click on the START button, select SETTINGS, click on
CONTROL PANEL, and then select Display.

Note: You can also display the Display Properties window by
clicking the right mouse button anywhere on the Desktop and
then selecting the PROPERTIES option from the pop-up menu.

 		2. Click on the SETTINGS tab.

 		3. Click on the ADVANCED button.

		4. Under Adapter Type, click on the PROPERTIES button.

		5. Click Driver Tab.

 		6. Click "Update Driver button".

 		7. That will bring up the "Update device driver Wizard".

		8. Click next, and select "Display a list of known drivers for
		this device" and click next.

		9. Click have disk

		10. Change the path statement to point to the driver files,
then click on the OK button. The driver files can be installed from
a local, CD-ROM, or network directory.

		11. Select S500 series driver from the list, and click on OK. If a
message appears stating that one or more driver files are older
than the files on the system, click on YES.

		12. Click on the CLOSE button.

		13. Click on YES to restart your PC. Installation of the new
S500 series display driver is now complete.
